The Solar System

The Solar System

The Solar System is a star system dominated by the Sun.

The Solar System (太陽系) comprises the Sun and the various planetary objects that rotate around it. According to current scientific thinking, the Solar System contains eight planets. However, within the Sailor Moon canon, there are ten planets, including Pluto (classified as a planet up until August 2006) and Nemesis (the fictional home of the Black Moon Clan).

In the Sailor Moon series, each of the planets, and some of the larger asteroids, were protected by the Sailor Guardians who bore the Sailor Crystals of that planetary body. The only planet which was not shown to have an associated Sailor Crystal was Nemesis.

Its known orbital bodies include the planets, and some of the larger asteroids.

The Solar System (太陽系, Taiyoukei) is the proximity of celestial bodies orbiting the Sun. The Solar System is often confused with a planetary system, which refers to any system of non-stellar objects orbiting a star. The Solar System specifically defines the planetary system of the Sun, orbited by the Earth and other celestial bodies. There are billions of planetary systems within the four galaxies of the Dragon Ball universe, and there is known life among these systems.

Dragon Ball[]

After using the Spirit Bomb against Frieza on NamekGoku states that "It [the Spirit Bomb] was filled with the energy of every living creature in the Solar System", referring to the planetary system of Namek.

The Earth's Solar System is mentioned during the battle with Super Perfect Cell, when the maniacal bio-android unleashes a massive Kamehameha which he claims has enough energy to destroy the entire Solar System.

Except for differences in Earth's geography, the Solar System in the Dragon Ball universe is parallel to the Solar System of our universe. However, only two planets from this solar system are named in the Dragon Ball series, Earth and Jupiter. It can be presumed that Earth is the other planet in this Solar System are just the same as in our universe (as hinted by a Martian from Go! Go! Ackman making cameo in the Dragon Ball manga).

Ice Age: Collision Course[]

A Saber-tooth squirrel named Scrat was unintentionally launched into the cosmos in a Frozen UFO after trying to look for a place to bury his acorn. There, he crashed into the moon, sending it to the other planets (which were organized together as billiard balls) into different directions. As Scrat tried to avoid the bumbling planets that went towards him, he ended up zapping a small reddish orange planet to hit Jupiter, starting the small sandstorm on the planet nicknamed the "Red Eye". Also, he zapped Saturn, making it receive it's own rings that are known today. When he and his acorn were launch outside the UFO, Scrat had witnessed two grey planets crash into each other, which had created the asteroid belt. The two planets that had also crashed together had created an asteroid, which Scrat had cracked and moved, after trying to bury his acorn.

Generation 1[]

Marvel Comics continuity[]

Marvel The Transformers comics[]

Shaken loose from its orbit, Cybertron drifted into the Sol system where it risked being destroyed by the asteroid belt. The Ark was launched to clear a path through the rock and, although the Ark was lost in a Decepticon attack, Cybertron drifted safely through the system. Template:Storylink

Four millions years later, Sky Lynx arrived in the system at Wheeljack's request to aid him in overthrowing the power mad Grimlock. Sky Lynx soon placed host to a quartet of human children and led them on a chase around the solar system, losing the Ark in the asteroid belt. Template:Storylink

The Steelhaven soon entered the solar system carrying a group of Autobots and Nebulans but the craft was pursued by Decepticons. Template:Storylink At Fortress Maximus's instruction, Goldbug left the system aboard the Steelhaven to revive Optimus Prime on Nebulos. Template:Storylink

To fight against Unicron, Primus teleported all the Transformers back home, Template:Storylink save (for some reason) those aboard the Ark, leaving them drifting in the solar system wondering where everyone went before they set course for home to investigate. Template:Storylink

Soon thereafter, the Ark returned to the solar system under the command of the Decepticons where, thanks to the sabotage of Ratchet, it once again crashed on Earth. Template:Storylink

Regeneration One[]

The Cosmic Carnival passed through Earth's solar system, prompting the Wreckers to book passage on it. Template:Storylink

Generation 1 cartoon continuity[]

The Transformers cartoon[]

Earth's solar system was home to at least one other sentient race, the (not particularly tall) Titans who lived on Titan. Template:Storylink

As part of a plan to harness Earth's energy, Megatron had Cybertron moved into Earth's solar system where its gravitational field caused chaos on Earth. Template:Storylink Cybertron was moved out of Earth's orbit soon enough and seemingly left in close proximity to (if not in) the solar system, considering the relative ease of travel between the two planets. Template:Storylink

By 2005, the Earth Defense Command had established various outposts in the solar system such as Outpost One in orbit of Pluto to monitor threats coming from beyond the solar system as well having a base on Mars. Template:Storylink

In 2007, Galvatron moved Cybertron back into the solar system as part of a scheme to use the Plasma Energy Chamber to destroy Earth via causing its star to go nova. A stay bolt of plasma energy struck Scorponok however sending the Decepticons hurtling out of the system. Template:Storylink

The Headmasters cartoon[]

Chromedome and Sixshot had a duel in the asteroid belt. There was a handy map on hand used to plot out the major locations of the solar system. Template:Storylink

2005 IDW continuity[]

Jimmy Pink was of the belief that Earth was not the most logical place in the solar system for aliens to land. Template:Storylink

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe[]

Megatron ordered Cybertron moved into Earth's solar system after Starscream had retrieved Bumblebee from the planet. Template:Storylink

After Megatron's defeat, the solar system was heavily colonized by both humans and Cybertronians. Rodimus meanwhile guided Primus back to his original orbit and out of the solar system. Template:Storylink

Beast Era[]

Beast Wars cartoon[]

Acting on instructions from Megatron, Template:Storylink a new Megatron stole a ship and time travelled to Earth's solar system four million years in the past only to be pursued by the Axalon with both ships crashing on Earth. Template:Storylink

A temporal probe entered the solar system to try and find the missing Axalon but found nothing and left. Template:Storylink

The destruction of the Vok Planet Buster, Template:Storylink caused a transwarp wavefront to be sent into the future alerting the Predacons of the 24th century to the location of the Darksyde prompting them to send Ravage to eliminate the combatants of the Beast Wars. Template:Storylink

When Megatron had slain Optimus Prime, the resulting timestorm was centred in the solar system. Template:Storylink Template:Storylink

By the era of Maximals and Predacons, the solar system was declared off-limits at the order of the Maximal High Council. Template:Storylink

Beast Wars II[]

Galvatron's planet-sized fortress Nemesis arrived in the solar system where it sucked the Angolmois Energy out of one of Neptune's moons, Template:Storylink Saturn's rings Template:Storylink and Jupiter's atmosphere. Template:Storylink

Beast Wars: Uprising[]

In 13 SCA (or 1997), the Autobots helped the humans build their first warp gate at the edge of the solar system, allowing humanity to colonize other planets. Template:Storylink

Unicron Trilogy[]

Unicron Trilogy cartoon continuity[]

Fleeing the Great War, the Exodus arrived in the solar system where it crashed on Earth's moon. Template:Storylink

After the war ended, the Cybertronian/Human alliance established several energon mining facilities in the solar system. Template:Storylink

Upon Earth's Cyber Planet Key being placed in the Omega Lock, a Space Bridge opened showing the black hole making it seem to the people of Earth as though the black hole was in their solar system. Template:Storylink

Animated cartoon[]

While fleeing the Nemesis, the crew of the Orion wound up passing through an AllSpark empowered Space Bridge and wound up in Earth's solar system. Template:Storylink

After gaining navigational control over Omega Supreme, as well as picking up Shockwave and Arcee, Megatron transwarped back to Earth's solar system to ready his ultimate victory. Template:Storylink

Aligned continuity family[]

Earth's solar system was part of a perfect planetary alignment of forty-seven celestial bodies that stretched all the way back to Cybertron. Unfortunately the magnetic pull of the alignment caused Unicron to awaken. Template:Storylink Template:Storylink

Cyberverse cartoon[]

When the AllSpark was detected on Earth, Starscream rallied the Decepticon fleet and led the voyage to Earth, notifying Slipstream when the fleet had entered the system. Template:Storylink
