Sailor Moon (Theme)

The Sailor Moon English Theme Song was the theme song for the English dub of the anime. The song used the same melody of "Moonlight Legend" for its theme, but with very different lyrics and altered instrumental. The lyrics were said to be written by Andy Heyward. Writers credited for it on the CD are Nicole and Brynne Price. However, the "S.A.F remix" of the song that was on the "Full Moon Collection CD" had credited Monroe Michaels as the lyricist.

At the time the English Dub was released, it was unusual for anime theme songs to be translated, and this was one of the first such themes to be redone in English since the anime Star Blazers. The English theme has been described as "inane but catchy" by many people.

Intro[]

The intro begins with an outer space view (along the comet) and the monsters fight with colored superpowers. The colored superpowers (added with monsters) fly across the planet. The monster became villainous and Sailor Moon is ready to shine. Mamoru is standing on a rose backdrop and Sailor Moon's real alter-ego is running while pushing Mamoru. Sailor Moon has a fist on Morga. Morga's face morphed ugly. Sailor Moon is throwing on Morga's ugly face and Morga is always burned to death in a Japanese city. Transition to fire, all of the episodes' clips were added in. Sailor Moon is in the air along the wand, drawing the circle. Again, she's ready to shine. Transition to the window, Sailor Moon's outside, going higher in the air. Two out of the Scouts (along with Sailor Moon) are in the air while wearing colored capes and going higher in the air again. The Scouts show their elements. Sailor Moon along with her Scouts hold the wand and the moon on her forehead is always ready to shine. Sailor Moon (on the window) reflects her alter-ego and feels unhappy, but excited. Mamoru is still standing on a mixed-up city while moving his cape with stars. Mamoru takes off his mask and goes up again in the air while Sailor Moon and her real alter-ego are running in a half-colored, star backdrop (along the rainbow). Transition to numerous masks, the painted geisha's face got balled up by Queen Beryl. Queen Beryl (she's always standing on the front of minors) also became villainous and fight against Sailor Moon with weapons. At night, Sailor Moon is in outside while gazing at the moon and her face begins to shine. Kunzite is always villainous while adding a superpower and the Scouts (along with Sailor Moon) use wands and bound down the ground. Sailor Moon spins her skirt along the bow that also begins to shine, the moon changes into a tiara, but added with hair accessories and poses. Transition to graphics, the Scouts (along with Sailor Moon) and two cats pose, changing to a city backdrop and the series' logo appearing.
